Lookouts Walks

The lookouts walks built between the hills, correspond to one of the most characteristic urban elements of the city, in general, in the form of long squares, which open to the sea as a viewpoint. Being important tourist places of Valparaiso, there are always coffee houses, ice cream shops, restaurants, and hotels in the surroundings. Among his most famous walks are:

Atkinson walk

This walk is located between a line of gardens of old 19th century old big houses and an open space that ends at the sea, allowing panoramic views of the entire bay. At the end, the walk ends at the Hotel Brighton, a terraced building, which allows you to enjoy a drink while watching the port.

To get there you can take Concepción elevator, which ascends to Gervasoni walk, approximately 100 meters away from Atkinson walk.

Gervasoni Walk

Gervasoni walk, located in Cerro Concepción, is a privileged viewpoint towards the bay, bordered by enormous 19th century mansions. To get there you can take the Concepcion elevator, whose station is in the middle of the walk.

Yugoslavian Walk

The Yugoslavian walk is one of the first lookouts planned in the city, whose significant height above sea level allows a view of important part of the city’s coastline.

In this place highlights the Baburizza Museum in Art Noveau style. At less than 150 meters away, you can walk along the Bavestrello walk, a small path between stairs that cross the building of the same name, full of graffitis that adorn the walls.

To get there, you can take the El Peral elevator, whose station is at the beginning of the Yugoslavian walk.

May 21st Walk
